It’s alway nice to go out and about and visit new places. Places you’ve never been to before. Have a walk around. Get some food. Take some photos. I’ve put just this on my to do list from now on. It’s so nice to get out and explore. Every once in a while, it’s nice to go with a friend! So, when my friend Lizzie text me asking If I wanted to go to St. Ives for lunch on a Saturday I didn’t think about it, I just said yes. It’s almost like we have this mutual agreement that if there’s food involved, we’ll both be there!

It only occurred to me as she was driving in to St. Ives that I’ve never actually been! What a mistake that was! What a beautiful place! We parked down London Road. The first thing to catch my eye was this beautiful little house – Isn’t it lovely? Felt a bit creepy taking a photo of someones house. But it was soon cute!

We then started to walk down this road, the sun was shining. In true Lorna style, I’d forgotten my sunglasses – obviously! And we came up to the bridge. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this. I just wanted to take photos of everything. Obviously Lizzie wasn’t that interested, she’s clever and had been here before! Anyway… we kept walking and I started to question where she was taking me. Stood on top of the bridge, Lizzie pointed to an outside seating area filled with iron tables and chairs overlooking the river. Just over the bridge we turned left and under an arch where we were greeted by this cute café front.

This is where we were going for lunch.

It turned out Lizzie had bought her Dad here for Father’s Day a couple of weekends ago. We quickly made a dash to see if there were any seats outside overlooking the river. Huzzah – we got a table! After browsing the menu, which had only just launched, I decided on the Bacon and Brie Panini, Lizzie chose the ploughman sandwich and also fancied a scone, so proceeded to order a Cream Tea. (Obviously she’d have the tea and we shared the scone ;)). We sat, had a chat, caught up on life. From boys, to work, to home life, we talk about everything. It’s always nice to have a catch up with good friends.

Our food was bought out to us and oh my gosh… Just look at it!

All in all, our total bill was just over £20. £10 each was not half bad! Lovely location, brilliant service, delicious food. I would absolutely recommend going here if you’re ever in the area. I’ll definitely be revisiting!
